Nature Boy: Seán Ronayne's Birdsong

Ornithologist Seán Ronayne returns to Beyond The Pale for the third year running, presenting a unique talk on his remarkable project to record the birdsong of every species of bird on the island of Ireland. Earlier this year, Seán inspired a nation following his appearance on Tommy Tiernan’s RTÉ chat show. He is also the star of the acclaimed documentary, Birdsong, directed by Kathleen Harris.

In this talk, Seán will share his vast knowledge of Ireland’s birdlife, along with multiple recordings he has gathered across Ireland. This is a must-see for festival-goers of all ages, and will be followed by the now annual guided birdwatching walk on site, led by Seán. The birdwatching walk will last around an hour and requires decent footwear.
